adidas Originals by Originals Kazuki Kuraishi ZXZ Ian Brown (2011)

For the Originals by Originals line, Fragment’s Kazuki Kuraishi turned to close friend and former Stone Roses frontman Ian Brown for inspiration. A long-time collaborator, Brown’s distinctly British cool blended seamlessly with Kuraishi’s Japanese streetwear sensibility to deliver an all-black take on the ZX.

Understated yet premium in execution, the adidas ZX Ian combined leather and mesh uppers with a suede heel panel and tonal zig-zag stripes. Finishing the design was a bold touch: Ian Brown’s face, emblazoned on the tongue.
